Information about booking the ranch

We would love to have you stay at the ranch!  Some important information before booking a stay here:

  • We only book out the entire ranch, not individual accommodations.
  • Events with guests that exceed our sleeping capacity of 32 need pre-approval and are an additional fee (our maximum day guest count is 60 which includes the 32 overnight guests).  Also note that our ranch has a strict quiet time policy from 9pm-7am (this means no amplified sounds or loud noises after 9pm).
  • We have free ranging livestock and ranch animals as well as natural wildlife here on the ranch.  Due to this there are no outside pets allowed on site (including service animals) for the safety of all.
  • We live onsite and are available 24 hours along with our staff.
  • We have satellite internet service and no TV’s – consider it the perfect time to disconnect from the chaos and reconnect to you and nature.
  • Our fire pit is subject to county restrictions and may not be available for use during your stay. 
  • We have 24 hour camera surveillance in all outdoor common areas (not inside any accommodations or bathrooms)
  • Last note- we would love to have you here, but if you don’t like bugs, nature and dirt (yes dirt…or mud if it rains), then sadly we may not be the best fit for you.  All of our roads, trails and walkways are crushed granite/dirt and we are a 46 acre working nature ranch that includes all the animals, bugs, insects, etc. native to the hill country- please keep that in mind before booking a stay.

The Dining Hall & Kitchen

Prepare delicious meals in our dining hall with our fully stocked kitchen. With over 900 square feet of space, it is equipped with dishes, glassware (including drinking glasses, coffee cups, champagne flutes, and wine glasses), silverware, and utensils. 

High-quality pots/pans, serving dishes, Tupperware, and small appliances (including blender, three toasters, two crockpots, commercial Bunn coffee maker with hot water dispenser and french press) are available for you to use during your stay with us.

Appliances include two full sized fridge/freezers with ice maker, an oven, a dishwasher, and a microwave.

Up to 30 guests can enjoy the dining hall at the same time, where you can bond with your other fellow retreaters at the ranch. 

There are two full bathrooms (with showers) located in the dining hall.

Included with your stay are bath towels, pool towels, body wash/shampoo/conditioner, blow dryers as well as complimentary coffee/tea and sweeteners. 

PS- having an event and want it catered or a chef?  Let our on site chef help you out!. 

Additional Amenities:

  • Boutique store. Our charming boutique store is located in the workshop barn and features many unique discoveries with hand-crafted items from local artisan vendors. We also sell toiletries, snacks, etc.
  • Outdoor fire pit. Warm yourself up and connect with your friends/family with the outdoor firepit, located in the main retreat area, and enough seating for 20+ (subject to country restrictions)
  • Outdoor charcoal grill. Grill your favorite foods using the outdoor charcoal grill/smoker located in the main retreat area (note each accommodation has a small grill also).
  • Outdoor bar. The perfect place to unwind- using our outdoor bar with wine barrel table tops & seating for 20+ located in the main retreat area.
  • Outdoor commune and seating area. In between the dining hall and workshop barn- enjoy our huge long table with seating for 25+
  • Dipping Pools & Hot Tub. Cool off from the Texas heat in three of our dipping pools & a lounge area as well as our hot tub; the perfect place to relax.
  • Wood Burning Sauna. Rejuvenate your body and mind in our wood burning sauna. Maybe even add some aroma therapy with our essentials oils provided and then do some hot and cold therapy by jumping in our cool pools after.
  • Cold Plunge Bath. Invigorate your body and mind with our cold plunge bath (guests need to provide the ice).
  • Playground. Our playground area has a sand pit, swings & teeter totter (PS the teeter totter is for the adults too!).
  • Sand Volleyball Court. Next to our playground is our sand volleyball court, perfect for that group playtime.
  • Outdoor Pavillion. Large outdoor covered pavilion with electricity and fans .
  • Small Stage Area. In the main common area is a small stage with power.
  • Hammock/lounge areas. Throughout the property are hammocks and lounge areas to relax and disconnect in.
  • Stocked bathrooms (showers). All of our bathrooms are stocked with everything you need including towels, blow dryers, body wash, shampoo & conditioner.
  • Fluffy robes. Every adult guest will be provided a luxurious fluffy robe to use during their stay.
  • Laundry Facilities. Laundry facilities for guests to use complimentary during their stay.
  • Animal Love. Be sure to say hi and visit our on site animals- whether it be our horses (they will most likely visit YOU) or the goats, chickens and our livestock dog Bailey!

Add a lil spice to your stay

  • Horseback riding. We have horseback riding options for guests ages 8 and up for an additional cost. Subject to availability, seasonal and horse health impacts availability.
  • Yoga Sessions. Book a group or private one hour yoga session either on the ground or our aerial yoga rig. We include all the necessary extras (yoga mats, blocks, etc) and can be done at our outdoor pavillion or in our historic 1860 house. Subject to availability and an additional cost.
  • Special Workshops. We have art and candle making workshops and can also help create special event workshops for your group or stay. Minimum number of participants needed and additional cost, subject to availability.
  • Ranch Tour & Educational Experience. Take a tour with us on the ranch and learn beekeeping, chicken raising and other fun facts of ranch/country living. Subject to availability. .
  • Off Site Extras. There are so many extras to do around our town: wineries, breweries, distilleries, lake activities, family outings, restaurants, shopping, galleries, music halls and more! Just ask us for help!

At Retreat Ranch, we embrace the natural, untouched beauty of our rustic ranch setting. While we aim to provide an authentic and serene experience for all our guests, we recognize that the unique characteristics of our working ranch may present certain limitations for guests with disabilities.

Due to the nature of our retreat center, we are currently unable to accommodate service animals. Our ranch is home to free-ranging animals, and for their safety as well as that of service animals, we cannot allow any outside pets or animals on the premises.

Our facilities, including guest accommodations and communal areas, are nestled in a landscape that celebrates its rustic roots, featuring uneven grounds and stair access. Consequently, we do not have ramps or elevators, and our bathrooms are not specifically designed for accessibility.

We wish to be transparent about the challenges that individuals with certain disabilities might face at our retreat center. The entire facility is not wheelchair accessible, and individuals with mobility impairments may find it difficult to navigate the uneven terrain and stairs.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience these limitations may cause. We hope that, despite these limitations, our guests can find peace and enjoyment in the natural splendor of Retreat Ranch.

FAQ’S

Most frequently asked questions and answers

Yes! We love micro weddings. Please note we are primarily an accommodation center so a two night minimum stay is required for all events. Our day guest maximum capacity is 60 (includes staff/kids/etc). A couple other things to note: there is an additional fee for events and weddings, and we have a strict 9pm quiet time policy to be mindful of our neighbors both human and animal (you can still enjoy yourselves and the property, just no amplified sounds, screaming, etc after 9pm).

Well this isn’t the easiest to answer as it depends on how you use the beds and sleeping sofas. Check out our stay page to see which accommodations have what layouts to determine the sleeping capacity for you. It ranges from 25 (if one person per bed and not using the sleeping sofas) to 32 if you sleep two per queen/king bed and utilize the sleeping sofas. No, I am sorry, we cannot go above our sleeping capacity for overnight guests.

Sorry, no. We are primarily an accommodation center so every booking requires a two night minimum.

So sorry, no (and we LOVE animals of all kinds). We have free ranging animals and livestock dogs as well as natural wildlife and it is not safe for any outside pets to come on site.  Unfortunately this includes service animals.  No exceptions due to safety issues for all. 

Yes and no.  We do have mini split AC/Heaters in each tent as well as electric blankets.  In the summer the evenings are perfect, though the daytime may still be a bit warm (enjoy the dipping pools or dining hall during the daylight hours).  In the winter the heater, supplemental heat and electric blankets keep you nice and toasty. 

There are no outside guests allowed unless you have booked an event (which has an associated event fee).  Please coordinate any day guest/events ahead of time. 

Yes and no 🙂 We have firewood on site to purchase for the main fire pit or you can bring your own.  We provide firewood for the sauna and propane for the container rooftop pit.  No lighter fluid for fire pit, we provide fire starters.

You do need to provide your own charcoal for the grills (though many times past guests have left some on site).

We have two standard ice makers in the two fridges in the dining hall, but for large groups guests usually need to supplement with bags of ice.  If you plan to use the cold plunge bath you will need to bring ice (usually 4, 20 lb bags are needed per day). 

We do not provide house keeping services.  However if you need new sheets or extra towels we can provide those to you. 

We provide quite a bit so you can relax! We provide firewood for the sauna, all bedding, towels (including pool towels), body wash/shampoo/conditioner, dryers, outdoor blankets, games and a fully stocked kitchen with cooking supplies and serving dishes.  You will need to provide firewood for the big fire pit (we sell some on site, it is also subject to county restrictions) all your food/beverage (except coffee & tea we provide), charcoal for the grill if you plan to use it and extra ice for beverages as well as if you want to use the ice bath plunge.   

Yes! Feel free to bring your favorite drinks to enjoy during your stay—just no selling (unless you’ve got that liquor license 😉). As long as it’s legal, you’re welcome to bring and consume whatever you want!

Unfortunately we no longer allow individual accommodation rental, we rent the entire ranch out only, 

Kinda. You can bring them and park them in our parking lot, but we do not have hook ups and do not allow generators at night. In addition, the people staying in the RV or trailer count toward your overnight sleeping maximum of 32. 

Yep! Sure can. Just arrange with us ahead of time so we can ensure we have adequate parking for you.

No and yes. We do not have cable or any tv’s anywhere on the property. We do have internet but it is satellite internet which is subject to weather and just slow as molasses. Your phone won’t work great either. Consider it the perfect time to disconnect from the stresses of the world and reconnect to you and nature.

Yep! Sure can. Just contact us to set an appointment.

Reservations are confirmed upon receipt of your deposit (equal to half of the minimum booking amount unless otherwise specified/agreed upon and refundable damage/security deposit or event insurance policy).

Payment in full is due no less than 25 days prior to your stay/event. If you cancel with 6 months (180+ days) or more notice then a refund minus credit card processing fees of 7% will be issued. If you cancel with 179 to 120 days notice then a 50% refund of monies paid will be refunded.  If you cancel with 119 days to 91 days then a 75% credit that does not expire (not applicable for holiday dates, subject to restrictions). Less than 90 days and earlier there are no refunds or credits.  An option is that we also can open up the date with no refund to see if it is rebooked- which then we would issue a full refund minus a 10% processing & credit card fees if it is rebooked.

You can change your date with 120 or more days notice with no change fee.  For changes less than 120 days to 30 days notice there is a $250 change fee.  Changes with less than 30 days notice are subject to restrictions and may not qualify for a change.  To see full rules/info click here. 

We LOVE sitting round the fire here at Retreat Ranch, however there are restrictions we must follow. Periodically there may be burn bans put in effect by the county due to increased wildfire risk and/or drought conditions, which means no campfires or outdoor burning of any kind at any time. Doing so may result in a $500+ fine payable to Burnet County.

If there is a burn ban in effect, we will notify you in as much advance notice as possible. Reservations cannot be cancelled or changed without penalty because of a burn ban.  We do have electric s’more makers we provide and you can still use the wood burning sauna. 

We do not provide food services though we have a list of local restaurants, chefs and catering options to utilize during your stay.  Not to mention HEB delivers groceries and you can use our fully outfitted kitchen on site.
